“Operation Scrooge: The Nightmare Before Christmas” launched Wednesday morning and netted 42 arrests by early Wednesday afternoon on various drug and firearm charges.

The effort was coordinated by the Talladega County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, with the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office, Talladega, Lincoln and Sylacauga police departments, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, the Calhoun County Drug Task Force and Talladega County EMA/911, which provided the space for the organization.
