The nation’s birthday can foster different emotions from different people. For veterans and civilians, for politicians and immigrants, for children and adults, the Fourth of July is a time of national pride.

Please email your responses in 150 words or less to ptutor@annistonstar.com, or mail them to The Star, P.O. Box 189, Anniston, Ala., 36202. Make sure to include your name and city.

We’ll publish a collection of responses during the July 4 holiday.
