YOU KNOW by now that Wright’s Dairy, off U.S. 431 North, has re-opened after a couple of months of plant improvements and a gestation period for their cows. Some of the cows have birthed and five new calves showed up Tuesday morning. Fresh milk will be available this coming Tuesday, but from where I “spread the cheese,” so to speak, their cheeses are back in the cooler.
Which, of course, includes my favorite, “Desert Storm.” It does have a bite and one really “wow” way to enjoy it is to stuff a hunk inside a burger and then grill.
One other thing here.
Back in the country, when a cow birthed, we called it “coming fresh.” Or do you remember it that way?
Somewhere along the line, that got changed to “God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.”
Maybe I’m a bit strange, but “Holy Ghost” has more of a ring of dire retribution if you don’t get on board than does “Holy Spirit.”
Like I said, maybe I really am a bit strange ... as the blonde and son-and-heir remind me from time to time.
Let me recommend one: John Boy & Billy’s Grillin’ Sauce.
It has a bite to it.
Seems I’m not the only one who hates their treadmill.
Out of several emails, I loved this one line:
“I use my treadmill to dry clothes on.”
I’ve misplaced the lady’s name, but we have to be at least first cousins.
And there’s no extra charge for the wisdom you find so often in this column ...
