If you are a big fan of talking to inanimate objects and can't get enough of antics like this, then you'll love this story from The Washington Post.

Former South Carolina governor Mark Sanford is taking a cardboard cutout of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) out on the campaign trail Wednesday, describing the prop as a stand-in for his Democratic opponent in the U.S. House race, Elizabeth Colbert Busch.

Ed Kilgore at Political Animal offers a history lesson on the ploy, and notes Sanford's campaign "is in even worse trouble than we thought."
