A woman is pursuing an assault charge against a man she said rammed his car into hers in a pharmacy parking lot Sunday afternoon, Anniston police said.

The woman told an officer she was attempting to get into her car at the parking lot of Walgreen’s on Quintard Avenue around 4:30 p.m. when the man hit the left-front bumper of her Kia Optima, and drove off, according to a police report. Another person was in the woman’s car at the time, but nobody was hurt in the incident, said Anniston police Sgt. Josh Doggrell.

Officers at the scene estimated the incident caused $3,000 in damage to the woman’s car.

The woman told police she knew the man who attacked her, and said she believes he targeted the other person in the car at the time of the incident, Doggrell said. Police are withholding a description of the man.

No words were exchanged during the incident, Doggrell said.

Investigators are working the case and talking to additional witnesses, Doggrell said. No arrests had been made as of Monday.
