Indian bones buried under a store in Oxford. Legend is if you drive by that you’ll see a tall, confused Indian walking up and down the halls sadly. Some say it’s the ghost of the Black Warrior, Chief Tusskuloosa, confused and still filled with sorrow from the battle of Maubila and all the soldiers he lost. How he got there, nobody knows. Some say he escaped the battle and traveled to Oxford with survivors from the battle. The owner said he didn’t believe this. So one day he was locking up the store and he heard an Indian shout and galloping. He saw the Indian. He pointed at the ground and disappeared. The next day he saw him again. The Indian again pointed at the ground and said, “Dig!!” He dug and found bones of ancient Indians.
