Traffic signals between George Douthit Drive and Alabama 204 are set to be a part of a $1.9 million repair project.
According to city officials, the updates are expected to alleviate high maintenance and energy costs and help keep traffic flowing smoothly.
The design and engineering plans for the project are currently in the development stage.
“The engineers have been working on the plans for about a month.” Mayor Johnny Smith said. “We don’t have an estimated timeline at the moment.”
The council also changed the closing time of the Jacksonville Farmer’s Market, which will run every Monday from June 3 to Aug. 12. The market will now close at 7 p.m. instead of 8 p.m.
