A 30-year-old man told police Monday he was robbed at gunpoint while sitting on his sister’s porch in Anniston.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the man went to visit his sister at her Fox Valley apartment on McClellan Boulevard. George said the victim forgot his sister was out of town, but he sat on her apartment’s porch to use her wireless internet. The victim was using his laptop around 10:47 p.m., when two men he didn’t know approached him, the captain said. One man pointed a gun in the victim’s face and demanded he give him the laptop. The other suspect took the victim’s cell phone, George said. The stolen items were valued at $2,200, according to a police report.

The two men fled, George said, and the victim was not injured during the robbery.

Police were still investigating the robbery today, George said.
