But if quarterbacks are judged in great part by how many championships they win, why are the Atlanta Falcons giving Matt Ryan the second-best deal in pro football? He is 1-4 in playoff games, but his contract extension is worth $103.75 million over five years.
Joe Flacco is 9-4 in the playoffs and was most valuable player in last season’s Super Bowl, but the Baltimore Ravens pay him $20.1 million a year. Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers ($22 million) is 5-3 as a postseason starter.
Rodgers, Ryan and Flacco are the three highest paid players in the league. And Ryan has one playoff win in five years as an NFL starter – this past season against Seattle.
He must have a great agent.
