Continuing wet weather has again postponed games planned today for multiple sports in state high school playoffs.

The Class 3A Piedmont baseball team had the third game of its AHSAA quarterfinal series with fourth-ranked Mars Hill Bible pushed to Tuesday at 4 p.m. The game had been scheduled for 1 p.m. today.

Due to the delays, Piedmont pitchers Cade Bradley and Dillon Terry have each sat out the required 72 hours after pitching a complete game and will be available for Tuesday’s game. However, if either player pitches a complete game he will not be available Friday for the semifinals, should the Bulldogs win Tuesday.

The Jacksonville girls soccer team has had two postponements since Friday and will now travel to Guntersville on Tuesday to play at 5:30 p.m. The winner will travel to Huntsville for the semifinals Friday.

Alexandria is scheduled to play Game 3 against Ardmore at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Ranburne is set to continue its series with Westbrook Christian on Tuesday at 4:30. Game 2 is scheduled to resume then with Westbrook Christian leading 5-0 in third inning. Game 3 will follow. Ranburne won the first game 8-3.
