The state is requiring a new round of vaccines for incoming sixth graders this fall, and the Madison County Health Department is offering those shots free on certain dates.
The Health Department will offer the TDaP vaccine for free during certain dates at its site at 301 Max Luther Drive. The vaccine protects against three diseases: tetanus, which causes painful muscle tightening; diphtheria, a respiratory disease; and pertussis, also known as "whooping cough."
