One woman was killed and two men were injured during a crash Sunday morning on Alabama 204 outside Jacksonville.

A spokeswoman from the Alabama State Trooper’s post in Jacksonville said the three-car accident occurred at 5:33 a.m. Kimberly McCoy, 41, of Jacksonville, was rushed to Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Pat Brown, Calhoun County coroner.

“She was hit head on,” Brown said. “It appears the other driver was in her lane.”

Richard Davis Jr., 26, of Jacksonville, and Cody Phillips, 20, of Jacksonville, were injured during the accident. The spokeswoman was unsure which hospital the men were taken to or the extent of their injuries.

State Troopers were still investigating the accident Monday, the spokeswoman said.
