Former Oxford High baseball standout Adam Ballew has completed an award-heavy final season at Southern Union Community College.

A center fielder, Ballew finished eighth in the Alabama Community College Conference in batting average (.395), ninth in doubles (12) and second in triple (six). He made All-ACCC first team and All-Central Division first team.

In addition, he helped Southern Union finish second in the ACCC tournament and made the all-tournament squad.

He was honorable mention NJCAA All-American and made the Alabama Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NJCAA Gold Glove team. Ballew didn’t make an error all season, and was one of only nine junior college players to receive a Gold Glove.

He is now headed to South Alabama, which has signed him to play baseball.
