Investigators have charged a local man for alleged involvement in a shooting at an Anniston nightclub.

Anniston police arrested Norman Jabar Dunn, 25, Tuesday evening. Dunn faces felony charges for discharging a firearm into a building, according to a police report.

Around 1:45 a.m. on Nov. 23 police were called to Club Paradise, on the 1500 block of Hillyer Robinson Parkway, after a fight involving several men had escalated. According to police, after the fight was broken up a man drew a pistol and began firing at the club’s front door.

Police said none of the club’s patrons were injured during the shooting.

“We believe he is the only one responsible,” Sgt. Josh Doggrell said.

Doggrell said police relied on witnesses at the club to determine Dunn as the alleged shooter.

“Witnesses said they knew who he was by sight,” Doggrell said.

After investigators discovered the suspect’s name, they were able to show witnesses his photo and confirm he was the man they were searching for.

Doggrell said no other arrests are expected to be made.

Dunn paid the $30,000 bond and was released the same night of his arrest. A court date has been scheduled for Feb. 4.
