Anniston police received a report Friday that a woman on the 2600 block of Simpson Street killed a dog between 3:00 p.m. Thursday and 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Chris Sparks said.
Sparks said when police arrived at the suspect’s home she was gone. Police found another dead dog on the property, the sergeant said.
Sparks said the incident was reported to the Calhoun County Animal Control Center and is still under investigation.
The suspect will likely face a charge of first-degree cruelty to a dog, a felony, Sparks said.
