Police investigators are gathering information on a shooting Friday at an Anniston nightclub.

Around 1:45 a.m. police were called to Club Paradise, on the 1500 block of Hillyer Robinson Parkway, by club personnel after a fight had escalated involving several men. The club’s security personnel broke up the fight and asked the men involved to leave, said Lt. Fred Forsythe. One of the men drew a pistol and began firing at the club’s front door, Forsythe said.

None of the club’s patrons were injured by the gunfire, police said

The building took $1,750 in damage from several broken windows. A gray BMW parked near the building was also hit during the shooting, causing $300 in damage.

Police collected evidence at the scene and took statements from several witnesses. The shooting is still under investigation.

The suspect will likely be charged with a felony, according to the police report.
