Body Mass Index is a mathematical comparison of a person's weight to their height. It has its pluses and minuses as a useful indicator of an individual's health, but it is a commonly used, quick measure of a person's body size. Doctors, researchers and fitness professionals use ranges of BMI to categorize people based on health statistics.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a handy online BMI calculator here: http://1.usa.gov/dY5u. If you'd like, you can visit the calculator, plug in your height and weight, and return to the poll to record your weight status category below.
