Alexandria finished third in the Class 1A-5A, Section 4 team standings at Goose Pond in Scottsboro, which was good enough to move on. The top four advance.
Shelly fired a 90, which was third among golfers who weren’t part of the top four teams. The top four individuals advance.
They’ll play Monday at Gadsden Country Club.
In addition, Pleasant Valley’s Madilyn Turner (97) and Brylea Holdin (112) participated but did not qualify for the next round.
Class 1A-2A, Section 2 boys — Pleasant Valley’s team finished fourth, which earned a sub-state berth.
Pleasant Valley shot a 349. Garrett Shaw led the way with a 75, while Sam Prickett was next with an 899. Britton Proper fired a 92.
Pleasant Valley will play Tuesday in Daphne.
Collinsville boys 9, Faith Christian 0 — Faith Christian finished its season at 9-4-1 with a loss in the second round of the state tournament.
Ohatchee 13, Woodland 2, six innings — In the Class 2A, Area 12 tournament, the bats came alive for the Indians as Taylor Hamm, Brittany Blair, Kaelin Cobb and Jordan Dunaway each recorded two hits with a run scored. Haley Gladden and Hannah Gladden also added a hit with a run scored.
The Indians plated seven runs in the first, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, and three in the sixth.
Micah Rollins and Breanna Rape each had a hit and run scored for Woodland in the first. The Bobcats were held hitless until Lauren Ware’s single in the sixth.
Ohatchee 15, Ranburne 1, six innings — In a 2A, Area 12 tournament game that was close nearly the whole way, it was the sixth inning the Ohatchee Indians needed. The inning featured 10 of the 15 batters scoring a run.
On the mound, Hamm allowed six hits, striking out four, walking four, and not allowing her first run until Ranburne was down to its final out.
Offensively, the Indians were led by Hamm, Blair, Leighton Sparks, Jessica Browning, Daisey Hathorne, Haley Gladden, and Hannah Gladden, who each had multi-hit games and scored at least one run.
