Cam Horton's 19 points paced Jacksonville in a 61-48 win at Pleasant Valley.

The Golden Eagles (1-1) rebounded from a season-opening loss the previous night to Etowah.

Sid Thurmond added 18 points in the Jacksonville win, while Elijah Cunningham had 13.

The Golden Eagles play again at home Monday against White Plains.

For Pleasant Valley (0-3), Trey Phillips had 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Dustin Andrews pitched in 11 points and 12 rebounds. Lucas Ford contributed nine points. Pleasant Valley will host Faith Christian on Tuesday.

Jacksonville Christian 51, Cedar Bluff 50: Will Parris hit a foul shot with 1.7 seconds to go to lift JCA.

The two teams were tied 50-50 when Parris stepped to the line. He missed the first but made the pressure-packed second shot to give his team the win.

He finished with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Dakota Crook had 16 points, and Daylon Brackett had 12 points and 18 rebounds.

JCA (4-0) will travel to Coosa Christian on Tuesday night.

Girls

Cedar Bluff 53, Jacksonville Christian 45:
Joeley Cupp had 18 points but Jacksonville Christian fell at Cedar Bluff.

Sarah Cook added 14 points and eight rebounds. Elysabeth Morales pulled down 10 rebounds.

JCA (2-2) will play Tuesday at Coosa Christian.

Jacksonville 75, Pleasant Valley 25: Virginia Poe led the Golden Eagles (1-1) in a road win with 19 points.

Dasia Kirksey added 14 points, and Ataliya Morgan pitched in 13.

Jacksonville will host White Plains on Monday.

For Pleasant Valley, Tiffany Williams pitched in 10 points. The Raiders will host Faith Christian on Tuesday.
