Problem on the trail

On Sept. 2, I was literally run off the pavement on the Chief Ladiga Trail, around mile marker 15 (Piedmont), by a red four-wheeler going very fast. Thankfully, I did not crash but I did have a flat tire as a result.

Having crashed in March on the Silver Comet Trail because of an ATV coming toward me, I know what can happen as a result of a fast-moving motorized vehicle that is not where it is supposed to be. That resulted in a broken clavicle with eight weeks of recovery.

It says “NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES ALLOWED,” so what is the problem? Cyclists and runners use these trails for safety. I use a rear-view mirror when on the highway but did not think I needed it on the trail.
