The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for four counties in eastern Alabama.

The watch covers Calhoun, Clay, Cleburne and Randolph counties, and is set to expire at 10 p.m.

The watch comes as a strong weather system makes its way east through the state. Damaging winds and hail already have struck western parts of the state today, with damage reported in Mobile from a tornado there.
