Re “Death of a protest” (Op-ed column, Aug. 2):

I was gratified to read the column by the Miami Herald’s Glenn Garvin about the Chick-fil-A controversy in Thursday’s Star. He pointed out that “progressive” politicians from coast to coast aren’t in tune with majority opinion on the referenced matters.

The folks who complain about The Star’s editorial slant should actually read the thing occasionally.

I just wish that the Chick-fil-A corporate folks had thought to organize a voter registration drive at each location. That is the kind of thing that would really make a difference for our culture.
