The Heflin Fire Department received a 911 call from a passerby about 10:23 a.m., said Heflin fire Chief Jonathan Adams. When firefighters arrived on the scene, about 120 yards past D&S Propane, they found a Chevrolet Colorado pickup overturned in the northwest-bound lane. A trailer the truck had been hauling had come loose.
One person was out of the vehicle when the Fire Department arrived, Adams said. Firefighters helped the other person out of the truck, he said.
Both the driver and the passenger were taken to Regional Medical Center with what looked like minor injuries, Adams said.
Heflin police Officer Scott Winslett said the accident didn’t involve any other vehicles.
“It looked like he just lost control,” Winslett said.
Police could not release the names of the driver or the passenger, he said.
