The difficulty Calhoun County is facing getting authorized federal funds for helping recovery from tornadoes a year ago boggles my mind. The article in The Star summarizes these problems and tells us that we should pin our hopes on Sen. Jeff Sessions.
Am I missing something here? Sen. Sessions is not from this part of the state and preaches the Republican mantra of cutting back on federal programs. We do have a representative in Congress: Mike Rogers from the 3rd District, which includes this county, his home in the district. What is Rogers doing to help with tornado relief?
Please explain his role in all this. Better yet, Rogers can tell his constituents what he is doing.
