Re “When do we fight” (H. Brandt Ayers column, Feb. 10):

I just read Star Publisher H. Brandt Ayers’ latest column about when to fight. After reading The Star over the years, I can’t find any time Ayers backed use of military force.

He cloaks himself in the idea that he backs civil rights, yet in his editorials I see no talk about the illegal use of drones to kill U.S. citizens without any proof of terrorist activity. By the memo released recently, the government can decide you’re a threat and without probable cause it can kill you by a mere declaration that you’re an “enemy of the state.”

What about it Ayers? You say?
