President George W. Bush and his vice president, Dick Cheney, were businessmen and CEOs for years before they were elected to office in 2000. They inherited a nation at peace, a budget surplus and a solid economy from President Bill Clinton and Vice President Al Gore. It didn’t take them long to mess that up.
After eight years of this pair’s efforts, we had two wars, thousands of dead soldiers and a collapsed global economy. With a record like that, why in the world would anyone who loves this country want to trust any businessman as president? Ever?
Not me.
I don’t trust them anymore than I would trust a Wall Street banker.
