Thankfully, several companies have released tablet holders that let you do much more than simply propping it up on a table.
Here are reviews of two exceptional tablet mounts that are worth a serious look.
Vogel’s RingO All-In-One Pack for iPad
Vogel’s RingO mounting system covers all the bases you’d need for your iPad in a plethora of situations.
The All-In-One Pack includes a holder for the device, a wall mount, a car mount and a table stand.
The wall mount is my favorite feature of the RingO system. The mount is simply screwed into the desired wall area and will work on almost any surface. The holder is then pushed onto the mount for a secure lock. You can then rotate the device in any direction.
I was very impressed by just how secure the machine feels when attached to the wall mount.
It can be used as a mini-monitor for a bedroom, a secondary monitor for your computer or for a $500 alarm clock.
One cool design idea would be to use this mount in the kitchen. You can pull up your recipe data on the machine and go to town without worrying about spilling anything on your grandma’s famous spaghetti recipe. She’ll thank you for that, I promise.
The table stand mount works like it sounds. It simply allows you to set the iPad on a flat surface in either landscape or portrait mode.
The one feature likely to get the most press is the car mount.
It is perfect for extended trips with the kids. You mount the device around the headrest of the driver or passenger side seats.
It’s basically like the televisions that are included with certain classes of cars. Except this one can be used in almost every automobile on the market.
The RingO All-In-One Pack for the iPad is a tad expensive at $119.99. The system is high-quality and is certainly worth the investment if you can take advantage of all the different functions available.
Breffo’s SpiderpodiumTablet
Breffo’s SpiderpodiumTablet looks pretty simple at first glance. The eight-legged holder is simple, but has an array of complex functions.
The eight legs of the SpiderpodiumTablet can be moved around to fit any desired need. You can use it in the car, on a plane and even on a treadmill. Anything that has a solid bar going across can be used to hold your tablet.
That is the critical key reason of why I love this holder more than any other currently available. It’s small enough to fit in an iPad bag and can serve so many useful purposes.
The best example takes us back to the treadmill.
I used the SpiderpodiumTablet to mount my iPad across the horizontal bar in front of a treadmill. I then fired up the Netflix application and watched part of a movie while I walked. It helps keep the mind off of the whole fitness thing.
Breffo’s SpiderpodiumTablet cannot be recommended enough. It will bend around anything solid while keeping a tight grip on that precious iPad. The product is $35 well-spent and a must-have for tablet computer owners.
