Abbeville man on trial for solicitation to kill two deputies
A jury will determine the fate Thursday of an Abbeville man charged in an alleged plot to kill two Henry County Sheriff’s investigators and a police informant.
William “Scottie” Lindsay Jr., 51, of Columbia Road, went to trial on three felony solicitation to commit murder charges in front of Circuit Court Judge Butch Binford. Court records indicate Lindsay was indicated in December 2009, charging him with the solicitation to kill sheriff’s Investigator Lt. Troy Silva, former investigator Jason Selva and Jeff Ellis Oakley.
