NEW ORLEANS -- Alabama practiced in shells as Sugar Bowl preparation begins to wind down.

Here are some takeaways:

--If today is any indication, Leon Brown will start at right guard. Brown has worked with the first team offensive line all week. The Tide usually sets its lineup two days before a game.

--Safety Landon Collins (ankle) is moving better. The media was able to see special team drills and Collins ran down the field without any signs of a limp.

--Alphonse Taylor is working at right guard with the second offensive line group.

--Grant Hill has been working exclusively at right tackle during the media's viewing periods. He's with the second team.

--As a reminder, Cooper Bateman is playing the role of Sooner quarterback Blake Bell while Parker McLeod is playing the role of Trevor Knight

--Fifth-year senior Kellen Williams is working at left tackle with the second offensive line group with sophomore Isaac Luatua at left guard.

--Alabama athletic director Bill Battle was spotted at practice.

Up next:

Select players will speak to reporters following practice. Tide coach Nick Saban will have a press conference on Wednesday along with Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops.
