TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama returned to the practice field in shells after a couple of days off.

Here are some takeaways:

--Running back Jalston Fowler (concussion) was the only non-quarterback in a black, non-contact jersey.

--Cornerback Deion Belue was not seen during the media's viewing period. Belue, who has battled nagging injuries all season, was likely getting treatment during the viewing period.

--Nose tackle Brandon Ivory was back at practice after missing the Tennessee game. On Monday, Tide coach Nick Saban said Ivory is "fine" going forward.

--Cornerback Bradley Sylve (high ankle sprain) is slowly working his way back to being healthy. Sylve went through drills with Saban's group of defensive backs. He ran well, but limped at times. These two weeks off will be key for him.

--Defensive end LaMichael Fanning was not at practice today. Fanning is still suspended indefinitely.

--Scouts from the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles and others watched practice.

Up next:

Saban and select players will speak to reporters following practice.
