TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama remained No. 1 in the USA Today coaches poll, but Oregon continued to slowly close the gap.

The Crimson Tide received 56 of 62 first place votes after pounding Tennessee 45-10 on Saturday. Oregon (6) knocked off UCLA 42-14 on Saturday. Florida State sits at No. 3 with no first-place votes.

The USA Today coaches poll makes up 33 percent of the BCS formula. Alabama sat atop the initial BCS rankings which were released last week, while Florida State and Oregon came in at No. 2 and 3 respectively.

AP Poll

Alabama received 55 of 60 first place votes in the Associated Press poll to remain at No. 1.

No. 2 Oregon received three while No. 3 Florida State earned the other two. Ohio State and Baylor round out the top 5.

The AP poll doesn't factor into the BCS formula.
