C.J. Mosley, T.J. Yeldon lead Alabama staff player of the week selections

TUSCALOOSA -- Seven Alabama players were recognized by the coaching staff for their performance in the Crimson Tide's 38-17 thumping of LSU. 

Right tackle Austin Shepherd and running back T.J. Yeldon were named players of the week on offense. 

Safety HaHa Clinton-Dix and linebackers C.J. Mosley and Trey DePriest were named players of the week on offense. 

Kicker Cade Foster and safety Jarrick Williams were named players of the week on special teams.

Shepherd had the top grade on the offensive line at 90 percent. He didn't get called for any penalties, and did not allow a sack or a pressure. Yeldon ran for 133 yards on 25 carries and scored twice. Yeldon leads the Crimson Tide in rushing with 862 yards and 12 touchdowns. 

Mosley, who was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, led Alabama on defense with 12 total tackles. He had 1.5 TFL and broke up a pair of passes while also taking the snap on the fake punt before handing it off to Williams for the first down conversion. DePriest was second on the team with six tackles and was credited with 1.5 TFL, 1.0 sack as well as a fumble recovery. Clinton-Dix finished with five tackles.

Foster converted on his only field goal attempt of 41 yards for the first points of the game. He was perfect on all seven extra point tries and three of his six kickoffs resulted in touchbacks.

Williams ran for six yards on a fake punt early in the third quarter to convert a fourth down and two from the Alabama 41. The Crimson Tide finished the drive with a Yeldon touchdown to take a 24-17 lead. Williams also had three solo tackles.
