Etowah County crackdown begins after sale of bath salts banned

Agents with the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit and area law enforcement officers seized a popular new drug from local stores shelves Tuesday afternoon after state officials declared it illegal.

Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange and State Health Officer Dr. Don Williamson on Tuesday held a news conference to announce a state ban on the possession, manufacture and distribution of “bath salts.”
