Marshall lawmaker files bill to ban elective abortions after 20th week based on fetus pain
A Marshall County legislator has prefiled a bill that would prohibit elective abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy based on what he called "scientific evidence" showing an unborn fetus feels pain.
The bill by newly-elected Rep. Kerry Rich, R-Albertville, would require abortion practitioners to determine the age of a fetus prior to an abortion.
