Faith Christian School’s mathematics teams attended the Southern Union Mathematics tournament at South Union State Community College in Wadley April 5.

The pre-calculus team, which included Kristen Fargason, Stephen Emerson, Chessa Halpin and Parker Moore, placed fifth overall. Two of the members, Halpin (13th) and Emerson (16th) ranked in the top 20 students competing in that division and also earned points in the ciphering competition.

The algebra 2 team, which included Kevin Covington, Rebecca Harvey, Madison Hadley and Carter McKinnon, ranked fifth in their division. Harvey (11th) and Covington (18th) scored in the top 25. Harvey placed first and second in ciphering problems.

The geometry team, which included Ryan Crosby, Josiah McDaniel, Leah Graham and Sydney Nordan, placed fifth in their division. Crosby tied for sixth place individual score, Nordan placed 19th, Graham placed 25th.
