Mollie Strickland of Gadsden was recently crowned ‘Homecoming Queen 2013’ during the ceremonies at half-time of the men’s basketball game. Strickland was crowned by the reigning Miss Gadsden State Suzanne Bruton and Gadsden State president Raymond W. Staats. Gadsden State’s homecoming queen is the female campus favorite receiving the most votes in a college-wide student election.
Erica Maxwell and Michele Chandler (Piedmont), Yuko Akamine (Japan), Taylor Hollis (Weaver), Tionna Bowers (Centre), Anna Marie Kennedy (Alexandria) and Ugomo Ozor-Ilo (Oxford) were also chosen as ‘Campus Favorites.’ Escorts for the homecoming court were Jarrod Petty (Elkmont), Dylan Burns and Jay R. Morris (Anniston), Skylar Abernathy (Centre), Charles Spencer (Gadsden), Chance Heath (Alexandria), Arthur Reynolds (Attalla) and Michael Holt (Rainbow City).
