The White Plains Alumni Association recently presented college scholarships to graduating seniors of White Plains High School at its alumni banquet. The recipients included Zach Burgess, who was presented a $1,000 college scholarship by Martha Jones, Alumni Scholarship Committee member. Burgess is the son of Ron and Lynne Burgess of White Plains and the grandson of Harold and Cathy Burgess of Choccolocco and the late Walter and Vivian Elliott. He plans to attend Auburn University.

Dylan Weddington was presented a $1,000 college scholarship, on behalf of the White Plains High School class of 1959, by Joy Barnwell Patty, class of 1959 graduate. Weddington is the son of Miranda Waid and Scott Weddington and grandson of Sam and Brenda Morgan of the Hollingsworth Community. He plans to attend Jacksonville State University.

Lauren Cotton was presented a $1,000 college scholarship by Martha Jones, Alumni Scholarship Committee member. Cotton is the daughter of Eddie and Lesa Cotton of Old Davistown and the granddaughter of Ross and Bobbie Cotton of Oxford and the late Homer B. and Elloweeze Sims. She plans to attend Auburn University.

And Pilar McGuirk was presented a $1,000 Virginia Ann (Jennie) Jones college scholarship by Judy Stephens Norton. Norton is the daughter of Scott and Cathy McGuirk.
