The Pleasant Valley junior high cheerleaders attended UCA cheer camp in July at the University of Alabama. The squad received, all blue and gold, Superior ribbons and were Camp Champions for the third year in a row. They won first-place in the X-treme Routine competition, first-place in the Camp Cheer competition, and first-place in the Home Pom Routine competition. UCA All-Stars were Brittany Cangialosi, Lauren Johnson, Karry Christopher, Madilyn Turner, Haley Taylor and Samantha Lee.Ê Members chosen as All-American cheerleaders were Madilyn Turner, Samantha Lee and Lauren Johnson who will perform in the Disney World UCA Thanksgiving Day Parade. The squad has been asked for the third consecutive year to perform in the Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day. Bethany Johnson received the National ‘Pin It Forward’ award for leadership and attitude. Lacey Williams received a Superior Rating as mascot and was named as an All-American Mascot. The squad is coached by Krista Walker.
