The Ohatchee Elementary School sixth grade class, taught by Regina Jinks, was the first-place winner of the Calhoun County Animal Shelter's “Pawsitively Drug-Free” contest held during Red Ribbon Week in Calhoun County. Other winners in the contest included Saks and Weaver Elementary Schools in a tie for second-place; Cobb Elementary School, third-place; and Saks Middle School and White Plains High School, honorable mention. The contest, sponsored by the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention, provided the animal shelter with more than 650 items.
