They are helping out a fellow human being. On June 22, this caring group of people are having a fundraising event for Kerry Smith. Kerry and his family have been members of this church for a very long time. At the present time, he is in Northside hospital awaiting a bone marrow transplant and receiving chemo treatments for leukemia. For $8.00, you can enjoy a scrumptious barbeque meal, participate in a silent auction and enjoy a Christian concert featuring Christy Sutherland (Barbara Mandrell’s daughter-in-law), Kelli Dodd, Phillip Frost and Tonya Parrish. See church members for tickets or call Jackie Howle at 256-453-2823. Bye! Until next week…remember…If winning isn’t everything, why keep score?

We had a special Father’s Day presentation last Sunday – honoring the dads of the church. We are very proud of our dads and each one received a special gift from the church. This past Sunday morning, we were blessed by Bro. Newman Voss ministering to us again. He spoke on bringing the Kingdom of the Lord down to earth. We are to rule and reign in Christ. Jesus modeled what we are to be on the earth. We are to walk in total victory and submit to His Lordship. Our assignment is to “Go” but our destiny is to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to earth.

Our VBS was great this past week! Cornerstones performed “Change My Heart”. Bro. Doug’s message was from Mark: Jesus healed the man whose friends brought him to Jesus. He was healed both spiritually and physically. The friends who brought the man who suffered from palsy, worked together to get their friend to Jesus. People need to work in unity to get things done. Everybody should do what needs doing. Faith can help heal. We need people to come to church to hear God’s word. Be careful what you reason in your heart, for God sees your heart. Prayer requests: Doug and Cleo, Ruth and Murvel, Charles and Annette, Reba, Edna Dunn, Myrtice, Betty Sisk, Walter and Elaine Hall, Martha Holley, George Nimon, Ray and Esther, jail ministry, lost and unconcerned, VBS, missionaries, Kerry Smith, unspoken requests, William Perryman, Joyce Norris, Sonny Martin and family, the Crowe and Robinson families, our military, our nation’s leaders and our church, and Terry Benefield.
