Piedmont finished atop the Calhoun County track and field standings with 148 points, followed by Oxford’s 141 and Anniston’s 117.5. In the girls’ portion of the meet, Oxford won in less dramatic fashion. The Yellow Jackets had 153.5 points, while Anniston finished second with 148 and Piedmont was third with 141.

At 23-5, the Wildcats are having nothing short of a successful season. They are the top-ranked team in Class 3A and last week were voted the top seed for the county tournament for the second straight year, receiving 11 of 13 first-place votes from county coaches.
