A 29-year-old Piedmont man was in the Calhoun County Jail Wednesday after police arrested him on multiple felony charges, including robbery, first-degree burglary, sexual torture and first-degree sodomy.

After a weeklong investigation into a Dec. 2 home invasion, Piedmont officers charged the 29-year-old with the crimes of breaking into the house, sodomizing and sexually abusing someone who lived there, and stealing undisclosed items from the Piedmont home.

The suspect was being held Wednesday on a $400,000 bond, Chief Steven Tidwell said in a press release.

Investigators would not release further details about the case Wednesday, because it was still under investigation.
