Ohatchee Elementary School students participated in a “PAWS-itively Drug-Free Day” during Red Ribbon Week in October.

The day and week included a contest in which homerooms competed by bringing donations of dry and canned dog and cat food, pet treats and cleaning supplies. The donations were collected for donation to the Anniston Animal Shelter.

The homeroom with the most donations won an ice cream party and a dog-tag necklace. Paige Tucker’s sixth-grade homeroom won with 120 donations. The entire school collected approximately 887 items for the shelter.
