Well, another year of reading and listening to the mechanics of how to build and develop a championship football program at Jacksonville State.

Coach Jack Crowe should write a book about it. Between him and The Star’s Al Muskewitz, there is surely enough dialog. This book would never have an ending because with Crowe in place, it ain’t happening.

It’s been 11 years, and it’s the same rhetoric each year about how some of the proverbial pieces are missing, the mindset just isn’t right, we’re just a play here or there from being in the elite of the Football Championship Subdivision programs.

Please, people, Jax State has new digs, a new field name, even some new uniform combinations, but they still have Crowe. And they are still missing something from taking that next step, each year.

Let’s see, what has not changed in 11 years? Oh, yes, Coach Crowe. Is it time for a change? Oh, yes. So, Jax State, check your list, check it twice, you have been nice enough to deserve a nice gift for Christmas. Can you say, Coach Niblett?
