Two people were injured in a three-car crash in Saks Tuesday afternoon.

Alabama State Troopers say the crash occurred at 4:56 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 431 and Saks Road.

Anniston resident Willie Thompson Williams, 84, was in the left turn lane, southbound on U.S. 431 when for some reason he entered the flow of traffic, said Chad Joiner, spokesman for the State Troopers.

Williams’ 1993 Chevy Lumina collided with northbound GMC van driven by Jacod Todd Moses, 30 or 31 years old, of Hartselle, Joiner said. The Lumina was also struck by a 2008 Toyota Camry driven by Sandri Dale Johnson, 47, of Alexandria, Joiner said. The van left the road and fell down a 10- to 15-foot embankment.

Johnson and Williams were both injured in the crash. Williams was taken to Regional Medical Center, and Johnson was taken to Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
