The Kiwanis Club of Anniston recently attended the Alabama District of Kiwanis International Mid-Winter Conference held in Prattville. The club was presented the “Distinguished Club” award for 2010. It was accepted by the immediate past president Rod Nowlin. Current president Mel Malkove and member Dan Pitts were honored for their efforts in establishing a new Circle K Club at Jacksonville State University. The Anniston club was also recognized for having 11 members in attendance at the conference, the most of any club in the state. Other members in attendance from the Anniston club included Bill Hagler, Dr. Warren Sarrell, Dan Cleckler, Wayne Sisk, Chris Shinstock and Gen. Jerry Watson.
