Dr. Thomas Smith and Rev. Woodfin Grove officiated with Revs. Peter Hawker and Minnie Stovall assisting.
Special music was provided by James Roberts, Laura Fuller and Dr. John Merriman who played the piano and organ, flute and trumpet, respectively. The Rev. Stovall sang The Wedding Benediction, which was written by the bride’s paternal great-grandmother, Carrie Goodwin Luckie Weissinger.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Luckie Vandervoort. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Maury Drane Smith of Montgomery, the late Ken Luckie Vandervoort, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mertz Vandervoort of Guntersville.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Morris of Birmingham and the grandson of Mr. William Albert Wrase, the late Lois Ruth Wrase, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Harold Morris from Michigan.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a dress of tiered organza silk with a sweetheart neckline and an Alencon laced-edged veil, which had been worn by her mother. The bridal bouquet was stephanotsis, white roses, star of Bethelem, freesia and hydrangea.
Attending the bride was her maid of honor, Mary Gaynor Luce; her matron of honor, Avril Walker Drummond, both of Mobile; Leann Michelle Morris, sister of the groom of Birmingham; and Elizabeth Lane Woolfolk of Atlanta, Ga. Honorary bridesmaids were Elizabeth Rose Legg, Martha Martin Legg, Julia McKinnon Moultrie, cousins of the bride, and Elizabeth Adams Bance, Mollie Mulloy Creason, Amy Elizabeth Elhoff, Courtney Taylor Humphries, Alice Sharp Johnson, Lauren Elizabeth Ledford, Sarah St. John Lewis, Ginger Latham Mayfield, Lindsay Julia Overton, Lauren Gessler Rowe and Jeanne Elizabeth Svendson.
Julia Katherine Tully and Samuel Stephen Moultrie, cousins of the bride, participated as the flower girl and ring bearer. Other cousins, Cecile and Maury Smith, Mary Goodwin, Anna Tully, and Sally Moultrie were program attendants.
Mr. Morris served as his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Kenneth Luckie Vandervoort, William Maury Vandervoort, brothers of the bride, and Aravind Chodavarapu of Birmingham. The ushers included Joel Chase Ajlouny, Andrew Nathan Bussey, Michael David Crider, Daniel Fulton Day, Brent Thomas Goedjen, Patrick Wood Kennedy, Jonathon Allan Pate, Daniel Joseph Phillips and Carson Henry Rowell.
A reception followed at The Anniston Country Club.
The couple will reside in Birmingham where they will begin their medical residencies.
