Anniston police Monday were investigating the robberies of two Quintard Avenue businesses. Between 10 and 11 p.m. Sunday, suspects robbed the TCBY frozen yogurt shop at 1903 Quintard Ave. and – five blocks south – Little Caesar’s pizza, Anniston Capt. Richard Smith said.

Undisclosed amounts of cash were stolen from both of the businesses, according to the police reports.

Investigators Monday were trying to determine if the robberies were related. The descriptions that witnesses pro-vided of the suspects and weapons involved in the incidents did not match up, Smith said.

The male suspect who robbed the TCBY was armed with a knife, was about 6 feet tall and weighed about 200 pounds, a report shows. The Little Caesars suspect brandished a gun during the store robbery and appeared to be of smaller stature than the suspect from the TCBY incident, police said. Both suspects, however, were dressed in black shirts, brown pants and wore black bandanas to cover their faces.

Investigators Monday had few leads and were seeking information from the public. Anyone with tips about the crimes should call Anniston investigators at 256-240-4000.
