Thirteen stars and dancers entertained almost 1,100 people at the Anniston Performing Arts Center on Oct. 8 for the 4th Annual Anniston Morning Rotary event. The performers had been practicing for the past three months with the help of Premiere Dance Studio and exhibited many different styles, from Foxtrot to Tango.

The winners in the judges and audience category were Dr. Susan LeCoq and Dr. Jose Caballero. Susan said, “ … and thanks for this opportunity. I have no clue who had the idea to enlist me, but I am forever grateful. I have met so many people and possibly taken on a new hobby. I love it!”

Audience and judges’ second choice was Sal Mudian and Edith Couch. Bud Turner and Jan Hurd were the third audience-choice winners. Jan said, “Thanks again for allowing me to be a part of this year’s Dancing With Our Stars. It was the most fulfilling experience I have had in a long time.” The judges’ third choice was Cindy Lynch and Dr. John Hammett.

Cathy Mashburn and Jeff Gossett were the first-place winners for the Community Choice Award, as they raised more than $10,000. The other winners were Jack Swift and Robie Grana for second place Community Choice and Derek Brown and Ginger Marsh for third-place Community Choice.

The real winners are the children’s charities that will receive the proceeds from the event. Gross proceeds at this time are almost $70,000.

Thanks to all who participated in this great fundraiser.
