Calhoun County deputies Tuesday were investigating a report of a rape that occurred in Alexandria, a police report shows.

According to the report, filed on Thanksgiving day, a 24-year-old woman was raped in her Hammonds Drive home sometime between Nov. 22 and Nov. 25.

Attempts to reach Sheriff Larry Amerson for comment Tuesday were unsuccessful.

It was unclear whether the woman knew her assailant, whether rape occurred more than once or whether deputies had any suspects.

No arrests had been made in the case by Tuesday.
